Custom Web Application Development

Internal tools, client portals, booking systems, and dashboards: full-stack web applications built end to end on a modern, type-safe stack. Authentication, database, file uploads, and email, all handled.

Starting from

$4,000USD

Typical: $4,000 – $15,000 USD

Delivery: 3–6 weeks

When a spreadsheet, a no-code tool, or an off-the-shelf SaaS stops fitting how your business actually works, you need software built around your process rather than the other way round. A custom web app does exactly that: it captures your real workflow, enforces your rules, and grows with you.

I build full-stack applications in Next.js and TypeScript with a PostgreSQL database (Neon or Supabase) and Drizzle ORM. That means type safety from the database all the way to the browser, fewer runtime bugs, and a codebase any developer can pick up and extend later. Authentication, role-based access, file uploads, and transactional email are standard parts of the build, not afterthoughts.

Because the whole thing is yours, including the code, the database, and the hosting, there is no per-seat SaaS bill that scales with your team and no vendor deciding to deprecate the one feature you depend on. You get an asset, not a subscription.

Who this is for

  • Businesses replacing fragile spreadsheets or manual processes
  • Companies that need a client portal or customer-facing dashboard
  • Teams that need internal tools no off-the-shelf product covers
  • Booking, scheduling, inventory, or operations systems built to fit

What's included

  • Full-stack Next.js + TypeScript application
  • Authentication (Better Auth: email, magic link, OAuth)
  • PostgreSQL (Neon / Supabase) with Drizzle ORM
  • Role-based access control
  • File uploads (Cloudflare R2)
  • Transactional email + admin dashboard, CI/CD via GitHub

How it works

  1. 1

    Discovery & architecture

We map the workflow the app has to support, the data it stores, and who can do what. I turn that into a written scope, a data model, and a fixed price range.

  2. 2

    Core build

I build the foundation first (authentication, database schema, and role-based access), then layer features on top in milestone-sized pieces you can review as they land.

  3. 3

    Integrations

Email, file storage, payments, or third-party APIs get wired in where the workflow needs them, with everything kept type-safe and tested.

  4. 4

    Launch & support

We deploy with CI/CD on GitHub, hand over the repository and accounts, and include a 30-day support window. Most clients move onto a retainer for ongoing features.

Custom Web Application Development FAQ

How much does a custom web app cost?
Custom web apps start at $4,000 USD and typically range from $4,000 to $15,000 depending on the number of features, integrations, and how complex the permissions and data model are. Every project is scoped and quoted as a fixed range first.
How long does development take?
A typical custom web app takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on scope. You see working software at each milestone rather than waiting until the end.
What technologies do you use?
Next.js and TypeScript on the front and back end, PostgreSQL (Neon or Supabase) with Drizzle ORM for data, Better Auth for login, Cloudflare R2 for file uploads, and Vercel for hosting. It's a modern, production-proven stack that's fast and easy to maintain.
Can you add to or fix an existing web app?
Often, yes. I can audit an existing codebase, extend it, or rebuild it on a modern stack if it's holding you back. Send me what you have and I'll give you an honest read on whether to fix or rebuild.

Need custom web app work done right?

Tell me what you're building and I'll come back with honest thoughts: what I'd do, roughly what it costs, and whether I'm the right fit. No pitch, no obligation.
